Virtual Reality as an immersive environment opens door for various possibilities in real world.

Virtual reality is a three-dimensional computer-generated environment which can be
explored using interactive feedbacks. A generic head mounted display focuses the content rendered on split screen using a bincovex lens. This restricted focused view facilities the user with an immersive feel of virtual surrounding. Modern mobile phones are VR ready with sufficient screen size and orientation sensors like accelerometer and gyroscope. When discussing about the scope of VR, gaming is just the tip of the ice-berg. VR is deployed for various applications, specially for environments which are realistically difficult to reproduce. Virtual reality technology has made significant contributions for training military personnel, astronauts, surgeons and athletes. With lots of investments pouring into technology, very soon VR would be omnipresent in all aspects of life.

Hardik Jain is doing his PhD in Computer Vision and Remote Sensing group headed by Prof.-Ing. Olaf Hellwich
He talks more about it at the DAAD scholarship meeting (Cottbus 6-8 July 2018) as a guest contribution.

04. November 2016, Medieninformation Nr. 180/2016 TUB-Medien:
